DIY Earring / Pendant and Ring Repair
Under certain circumstances, a pearl can detach from the setting. This can happen if the pearls are exposed to water (shower, swimming), extreme heat changes, large changes in humidity, improper storage or care for the pearl. The metal and pearl rates of expansion are different and can cause the finding to separate from the pearl. To address the issue easily and quickly at home, if you are in a hurry you can simply use a drop or two of crazy glue and put the pearl back in. However, a specialized jewelry glue would be better for the pearl. We use Vigor Super Glue, which is designed for jewelry and is gentle on pearls. It can usually be ordered on Amazon by searching: "Vigor Super Glue 10/20"
